Human Resources/Accounting – San Rafael

 

The Human Resources/Accounting position is a key member of the Golden State Lumber team in San Rafael. This person works directly for the Director of Financial Operations – San Rafael.  The ideal candidate will have a thirst for learning, be detail-oriented, possess intermediate Excel skills, be comfortable with technology, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is seen as opportunity.  Additionally, this person will be a team player and recommend decisions that are in the best interest of the company as a whole.

 

The Human Resources/Accounting position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

 

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  1. Assist the Director in month-end close and analysis
  2. Enter/create journal entries
  3. Perform monthly account reconciliation on general ledger
  4. Assist with audit requests
  5. Monitor spending levels and variance analysis
  1. Special projects as requested

 

HR Responsibilities

  1. Employee HR Resource – answer and facilitate employee requests
  2. Daily auditing of employee timecards using ADP Workforce Now
  3. Prepare HR documents for payroll changes
  4. Gather and review new hire documents and benefit enrollment forms for processing at Corporate
  5. Act in a confidential capacity handling internal inquiries
  6. Workers Comp claim facilitation
  7. Schedule employee certifications & physicals
  8. Assist in the preparation of employee annual performance appraisals and employee discipline documents

 

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Identify opportunities to better utilize technology
  2. Any other administrative tasks that may needed by the business

 

Skills Required:

  1. Intermediate Excel Skills
  2. Ability to handle confidential information
  3. Good business acumen and judgement
  4. Experience with California Labor Requirements
  5. High level of integrity, initiative and commitment to excellence
  6. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience
  7. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  8. Strong written and oral communication
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a proponent for change
  10. Time management ensuring deadlines are met
  11. Microsoft Dynamics – GP a plus
