About Us
Glenn Nobmann, a third generation California native and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, started his lumber carrier business in 1954. For more than 50 years the Nobmann family has serviced the San Francisco Bay Area with building products. The company now has its third generation of family overseeing and building on its success.
Golden State Lumber was built under the philosophy that customer service is the key to success. As the premier lumber and building material supplier in Northern California we have been meeting the needs of developers, high-production framers, and professional contractors. We carry a wide variety of products and we offer many services to make the customer's job easier.
Our four California facilities are located in San Rafael, Newark, Brisbane, and Stockton. The Stockton operation is our largest location and sits on an impressive 40 acres. It has a large inventory of lumber, panel products, and I-joists, and features two optimizer saws. We can deliver products quickly and easily to any job site in California or beyond.
At Golden State Lumber, we’re continually asking,
“How can we help you make your project easier and increase your bottom line?”
We are dedicated to helping you stay one step ahead of the constantly changing building industry. That means we employ cutting-edge technology that will help you work smarter and faster. We also seek out materials and techniques that contribute in a positive way to the construction's impact on the environment. That is why we are proud to offer environmentally friendly building materials that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
We provide quality products including lumber, plywood, hardware, windows, and doors at very competitive prices. Our customers tell us the thing they appreciate most is our service. That’s because our idea of customer service is more than simply finding the best products for you—it’s our desire to go the extra distance and add real value to your projects.
